- Screw tightening and screw assembly (stresses and behaviors in bolted assemblies, tightening methods, use of torque wrenches, prescriptions)
- Feedback on bolted joint failures
- Bolted assemblies for urban railways (practical exercises: bogies, tyred wheels, special cases, iron wheels, negative friction, guide hubs)
Pedagogical objectives
- Describe the main characteristics of the various components making up the bolted assembly
- Cite types and conditions of assembly, tightening methods and use corresponding tools
- Carry out various assemblies according to standard installation instructions
