A major international contract in the urban rolling stock market

The bogies and brakes are an essential part of the safety of the rolling stock, with a major heritage maintenance operation at the halfway point in its 1.2 million km service life.
Transdev Dublin, a Masteris client for the past two and a half years
, has renewed its confidence in our teams for the overhaul of the brake systems on its 40 Citadis 401 trains. The Masteris and SNCF Matériel teams (technical, industrial, commercial and legal) responded with a tailor-made service offer to meet the customer's expectations.

Planned maintenance at the SNCF Industrial Technicentre in Rennes

With a new industrial site in Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande, near Rennes, since 2015, one of the 10 SNCF Technicentres in France will be entrusted with the overhaul of all the components of the 40 Alstom Citadis 401 trainsets from the end of 2021 for a period of 3 years. The Rennes industrial technicentre has been included in the project because of its specialisation in the maintenance of hydraulic brakes on trams and metros.
This new export contract with Transdev is in addition to contracts with several French cities, including Lyon, Lille, Grenoble, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Rouen and Toulouse, as well as with other operators in Europe (Brussels and Florence). The operational teams will be fully mobilised to support Transdev Dublin and the Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) authority in this new strategic asset maintenance operation.

Masteris will support the client in the renewal of its Citadis equipment for a further 5 years of service with the application of modifications to improve the reliability of its brake equipment.
This involves, in particular, making improvements to the reliability of the calipers and brake units following ageing problems after 17 years of commercial operation.

Improved brake pad guidance

The aim is toincrease the reliability and availability of the Citadis 401 trains on the red line.

A Masteris x SNCF Matériel collaboration

The Masteris and SNCF Matériel teams are involved in the definition of a global engineering and industrial maintenance solution tailored to meet the challenges of this new market with the provision of :

- An industrial tool and capacity for the industrial renovation of the brakes,
- Design engineering for the integration of a new brushless motor and the improvement of the brake pad guidance,
- Local support for project monitoring over the three and a half years of production.

Testimony of Remi Peltier

"It took a long time, but finally we signed. Not necessarily the scope we imagined at the start. Nevertheless, with the help of the IT department in Rennes, we were able to meet the client's expectations. We can be proud of the tenacity of our teams. From now on, let's try to satisfy the customer, who belongs to the large Transdev group.
